You Are Rather More Exotic than Tomatoes or Rhubarb

This is something I said to my partner. The idea was that, people around her know how to take care of the plants growing in her garden, but they have a harder time knowing how to take care of her. Because she is unique and odd and her instruction manual is a little different than the average bear’s. And also it’s written in Ancient Tralfamadorian and missing every other page. All of this is beautiful and wonderful and it is also why people are sometimes mystified by her and care about her but don’t necessarily know how to care for her.

And really I think we’re all like that.

By the way, when I said this, she said she might be content being rhubarb. I told her I’d still eat her if she was.
